Raise Tabby Cats: What Are The Possible Risks?

Raise Tabby Cats: What Are The Possible Risks?

Many breeders are deciding to raise Tabby cats for these wonderful fur balls. One of the reasons they are getting so many females is because they do not have many other choices. Tabby cats are prone to having the same congenital disabilities that other exotic cats are prone to. They are also susceptible to other diseases like feline leukemia. Because of these factors, they are not as popular as the other cats.

Why Are Tabby Cats Hard To Find?

Mice do not breed in most regions, and that is why Tabby cats are so hard to find. There are a lot of breeders who are raising them because they have a problem with this factor. It is the breeding gene that makes them prone to having the same defects that other exotic cats have.

These problems are rare in domesticated cats and in the wild. One of the reasons these creatures are so good-natured is that they do not get sick. They are very tolerant to disease. They do not have any diseases.

Tabby cats are susceptible to many different types of cancers. Some of them are very serious. Some are in the early stages of being treated, while others are already cured.

It means that the vet can get to work on a lot of different types of tumors. Because of this, they have a better chance of getting some serious diseases that will cause a great deal of damage to the owner and the cat.

Cat’s Coat

The coat of the cats is one of the most important parts of them. While it is true that this part of them is protective, it does not protect them from all the diseases that come from living in a dirty environment. It may get them. Just imagine the smell if they were not treated.

Another reason they can be so susceptible to being tainted by bacteria is the way they groom themselves. Their coats do not like to be scrubbed. There are a lot of scratches that need to be taken care of.

Licking and Scratching

The more the coat is licked and scratched, the more likely it is that they will get more infections and diseases. The longer the coat gets scratched, the more easily it will become infected. It is how the older ones are infected, and the very young ones are in prime time for illness.

It has been said that the fault in this is that the scratching is a way for the cat’s coat to show off. While some people believe that a purebred is protected from this, they may not realize that a purebred has a problem because they do not have the option of walking around with a dog grooming kit.

This is not an option for most of the breeders and even for some of the purebred cats. These kits are always in use. Most cats will just pull on the coat without making any real efforts to clean it out.

The coat of a cat should be brushed out regularly and cleaned between baths or when a vet gives them one. These are the things that keep a cat from getting infections and helping to prevent cancer.
